About

Our Commitment

RCP is committed to using its resources, skills, and experience to 'shape, organize and deliver a better world'.

We use our industry leadership to develop and drive positive, broader outcomes for local communities through our projects by maintaining a balanced investment approach across the following initiative areas.

Health & Safety

RCP has recognized Health and Safety policies, systems, and processes to keep our people and our project teams safe. We deliberately set out to create an environment where workplace safety, health, and mental well-being are fundamental business and project objectives.

Success in health and safety is about leadership and culture. The tools we have at our disposal underpin “what” we do, but the effectiveness of the systems is in “how” we do it. RCP's Health and Safety Committee is comprised of regional representatives who are empowered to promote a strong health safety and well-being culture across our offices.

Reporting to the RCP Board, the HSC has two key areas of focus – health and safety improvement and health and safety compliance. The improvement workstream has the key objective of improving systems; reporting on industry trends and initiatives, testing initiatives and ideas, leading the upskilling of staff, and maintaining/obtaining accreditations.

Cultural Connectivity

RCP is committed to creating an environment of togetherness underpinned by the principles of partnership, protection, and participation. We value culture and its place in grounding identity, values, interactions, and our connection to the land and spaces. Furthermore, we practice cultural sensitivity and strive to value the cultures of all people, helping to realize cultural values and narratives through our projects.

From our origins in Aotearoa - New Zealand, we have been particularly focused on ensuring Māori values, customs, and knowledge are valued and that 'mana whenua', are valued as true partners in delivering great outcomes.

As a new business to Canada and British Columbia, we bring this spirit of connection and partnership with us and support First Nations community members to meaningfully participate in all levels of project decision-making. We have arrived with a desire to learn, listen, and understand and we extend an invitation to connect and build lasting relationships that will sustain local communities for generations to come.

Mehemea ka moemoeā ahau,  ko ahau anake. Mehemea ka  moemoeā tātou, ka taea e tātou.”

If I dream, I dream alone.  If we dream together, we shall achieve.

Environmental

As influencers and leaders of the built environment, RCP has committed to managing our business and our projects in an environmentally sustainable manner. In our projects and engagement services, we champion a more sustainable and healthier environment.

Our approach to minimizing the environmental impact of our projects is two-fold:

  • Focusing on how projects can incorporate environmental sustainability to reduce environmental impact.

  • Minimizing our environmental impact during the provision of our services.

We are committed to providing positive environmental outcomes and improving environmental quality through clearly defined, measurable, and deliverable outcomes.

We are proud to be Aotearoa New Zealand’s first independent project management consultancy to receive Toitū Enviromark Diamond Level Certification. RCP is also now Toitū 'Carbonreduce' Certified meaning we have robust and formal processes in place to continually reduce our environmental impact, drive continuous improvement, and take action on Climate Change.

We are actively investigating certification for local Canadian environmental standards.
